This is not a bad idea, and hasn't it already been done, or is being done? It's not a new idea.
Of course it is. UNCF for 1. As for the other, back about 2012 I did some work for a black lady. In talking with her, she bought the house and paid to refurbish it on government grants. 1 because she was female. 2 because she was black. And 3 because she was using the house for handicapped assisted living. She also had enough left over to buy a van. All bought and paid for by tax payer money, free and clear. Much of which I would not qualify for.

UNCF is a privately funded organization. and only funds students at 37 historically Black colleges/universities.

Your other story is anecdotal - what was the US government funding source that paid for her house?

LOL! This IS my NATIVE land. I belong here. I'm an AMERICAN. Hyphenated-Americans are the ones that should return to the land of their hyphenation.

They ARE the problem.
No, I think it is pretty clear that you are the one with the problem.

Why would he leave? He isn't the one bitching and moaning about reparations and other illegitimate grievances.
No, he IS the one bitching and moaning about it. Evanston, IL did it and now a bunch of right-wingers are moaning about it. Unless you are a taxpayer from Evanston, what is your complaint? Typical Fox News whining!

"How so?"

Because you don't believe the Liberals know what is best for you. They know what is best for everybody....
They just don't have their re-education camps set up yet to show you the error of your ways, once they do you will "understand" they know best.

"Typical Fox News whining!"
Ya Commie News Network is so much better.

I have relatives that died in wars. WWI, WW2, Korea. and some in the civil war fighting for the North.
Some did not choose to go, some were drafted some were not. Am I entitled to money for the ones that got drafted and died?
(some were happy to they felt they owed it to the country, even the ones drafted felt they owed it to there country, even if they would have preferred not to).
The government forced them.....
I just know one of the ones that died would have founded something like Apple/Google/Facebook so I should be entitled to big $$$$$$$$.
My dad spent 30 years in the Army serving his country, he could have made more in private business, am I entitled to extra money for that?

To feel it's fair to take my hard earned tax dollars and give them to someone based on their race is just BS.
Yes some of them did not get a fair deal, yes slavery was wrong, but I don't own slaves, and no one in my family even going way back owned slaves. How do you know any of them supported what the government did or didn't do.
If there is a claim (if any) it should be against the slave owners not everybody, but then it's not right to make children pay for what their relatives did some year and years ago....
If there are any slave owners and ex slaves still around it's between them.

While we are at it lets write off those student loans too.
Guess I was dumb, I went to a cheaper school that I could afford. (barely) and took out a loan to buy a car to drive to that school.
I thought that was a better plan. Do I get the money I spent on that loan? (which I paid) Do I get the money I paid for books and tuition?
If I would have known the loan would get written off I could have spent my money on a fancy car or something else instead of school.
I figure if you are smart enough to go to College you should be able to figure out how long it is going to take to pay the loan.
Who knows I might have become a Dr or a Lawyer, but I didn't have the money to afford Med school or Law school
without going in to massive debt (which didn't seem like a bright idea to me)
I thought of it as a gamble will the money I bet on school pay back in the future.? How long will it take?
How much do I want to bet?
(BTW worked min wage job to put myself thru school)
I guess I should have bet 40 or 50K on Underwater basket weaving since it sounds like now I wouldn't have been playing with my money anyway.
When you gamble sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
OK so you say school is not a gamble but an investment. Well guess what sometimes investments pay off and sometimes they don't.
I am entitled to money on losses for a couple turkey stocks I bought? They were an investment in my future......
If I took out a loan to start a business and the business failed should that loan be written off?
Maybe the business would have survived if I had a bigger loan...wanted to gamble more.
If the business worked out should the government pay me for that loan?

I get tired of the give me give me give me, I am owed it.

What ever happened to
“Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,”

Maybe I am bitter because nobody gave me sh!p, I had to work for it like a whole lot of people did/do.

Most of us can see what it really is, an effort to buy votes.
We can vote for bread or we can vote for a circus, sooner or later if everybody votes for a circus there will be no bread come winter.....
Seems like circuses are in our future, and while the give me people get ringside seats some of use have to shovel sh!p for the circus.

I just hope it is not to late to remember we need to plant wheat for bread.

Kindly read this thread from the beginning. Everything you said has been addressed previously.

No he isn't. He said the only reparations he would support is a one-way ticket to Liberia. Then YOU started bitching and moaning and suggested he leave his own country for not being on board with your ideology.

No one cares if you want to give your own money away to black people, brown people, white people, or whatever color people you choose, for whatever reason you choose. Funny thing, not once have I seen one of you reparations apologists lead by example and give your own money and/or property away for reparations. Instead, its all about giving away other people's money. I guess cause you what's know best for all of us, right?
