Invasions

Russia has a history of sending ethnic Russians into adjacent regions and then using these new residents as an excuse to include these regions into the Motherland.
Well, I anticipated 2024 likely to be interesting with US presidential election but did not anticipate France considering fighting alongside Ukraine against Russia - https://www.yahoo.com/news/nato-country-said-could-join-112923689.html
  • French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed that he'd consider sending French troops to Ukraine and spelled out the conditions in which that could take place.
  • "I'm not ruling anything out, because we are facing someone who is not ruling anything out," Macron said NATO troops could be deployed to help defend Ukraine.
  • "We have undoubtedly been too hesitant by defining the limits of our action to someone who no longer has any and who is the aggressor,"
  • He is considering sending French troops to Ukraine "if the Russians were to break through the front lines, if there were a Ukrainian request, which is not the case today."
This means a NATO country could enter a war with Russia triggering involvement of other NATO countries.

Things could get real interesting real fast.

And just like WWII, Britain and France could be fighting side by side again - https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-warns-strike-british-military-135226225.html
  • Russia warned if British weapons were used by Ukraine to strike Russian territory then Moscow could hit back at British military installations and equipment both inside Ukraine and elsewhere
  • Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Ukraine had the right to use British weapons to strike Russia
  • Russia's foreign ministry said Cameron's remarks recognized that Britain was now de facto a part of the conflict against Russia and in response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory with British weapons, any British military facilities and equipment on the territory of Ukraine and abroad" could be targeted
  • Cameron, during a visit to Kyiv last week, told Reuters that Ukraine had a right to use the weapons provided by Britain to strike targets inside Russia, and that it was up to Kyiv whether or not to do so.

If Russia attacks any NATO nation then it had attacked all of NATO.
-And does Russia's reasoning allow us to attack North Korea, Chins and Iran, since they are all supplying weapons to this conflict as well as being used in attacks on international shipping?

WSJ | How Ukraine Pulled off a Surprise Invasion of Russia

Ukraine took control of hundreds of square miles of Russian territory, captured hundreds of prisoners and destroyed the Kremlin’s initial reinforcements. The offensive took place in the border region of Kursk, which sits on a stretch of some 300 miles of the Ukraine-Russia border. The attack sparked a mass evacuation and an angry response from President Vladimir Putin. WSJ explains Kyiv’s biggest attack on Russian soil.

BBC | Ukraine 'seizes more Russian territory' in biggest incursion since WW2

Ukraine says its troops have advanced further into Russia and captured more than 100 troops. It’s the biggest invasion of Russia by foreign forces since the Second World War. The incursion into Russia's Kursk region began a week ago and took Moscow by surprise. President Putin has declared that the attack will be repelled.

The Sun | What’s Ukraine’s next move? Kursk attack leaves trail of destruction & will force Putin to negotiate - https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/29873806/ukraine-russia-kursk-incursion-putin-zelensky/

Daring Ukrainians could exploit the Kursk siege to outflank Vladimir Putin's troops, a defence pro has said. Ukraine's armed forces have been pushing into villages across the Russian border since August 6 amid the first-ever invasion on Russian soil since World War Two. Russians have been scrambling to defend Kyiv's audacious move, which sparked a "counter-terror" operation in regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk. They are now sending their own tanks, trucks and troops in to fight Ukrainian troops who caught them off-guard. Aerial attacks have been traded each night with both forces decimating each other in the barrages across the war-torn region. But Ukraine's president Zelensky has vowed to go "even deeper" into Russia in the coming days as he prepares to hit back at Putin after more than two gruelling years of defending. Baltic Troops Ready To Enter Ukraine

Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have issued a chilling warning: they're prepared to send troops into Ukraine without NATO approval. Fearing Russia's growing aggression, these Baltic nations see themselves as next in line. With historical ties to the Soviet Union and recent Russian threats, they're taking matters into their own hands. Will NATO step in? Or will the Baltics become the first domino to fall?

My neighbor, the truck driver, is still doing his part to continue the invasion.
His clan just finished rebuilding and repainting another refrigerator trailer and loaded all of the illegals that were camping in and around his house to take them all north.
BTW, the local police and Border Patrol are totally uninterested in this.
I figure that he makes at least $40,000 per load, not counting the increased value of the trailers which are probably sold at the end of each run.

-At least this bunch of coyotes and their herd have learned not to mess with me and mine...

My neighbor, the truck driver ... just finished rebuilding and repainting another refrigerator truck and loaded all of the illegals that were camping in and around his house to take them all north.
But if he is taking them to "sanctuary" cities, then that's good, right?

And is there any law against transporting illegal immigrants once they are in the US? (I do believe there's law against transporting them across the border)

I assume the refrigerator truck has DOT approved seats and seat belts? ;)

Yeah, those Blue cities desperately need the replacements for the folks that are heading out to the Red states.
-And, of course, they REALLY need the votes...

-And another 40-footer reefer trailer just pulled in last night.
It's all in white right now, and the refrigeration unit isn't working properly - it's kicking on and off about once per minute.
I hope that everyone survives this little trip...

Wow ... Residents of Springfield, OH speak their minds about "invasion" by Haitians ... General sentiment, "Who's caring for the tax paying citizens?" ... I guess many in the city council will be voted out in their next election.

Maybe it's time for special elections and vote them out now ... ;)

Now FEMA says that they have used up all of their money taking care of the emergencies caused by the migrant invasion and have nothing left for taking care of actual citizen survivors of a major hurricane...

Death toll 220 and counting with hundreds of thousands affected/without power.

Total devastation ... Current administration must demonstrate better care of US citizens/tax payers than illegals/migrants.

-From today's McAllen, Texas Monitor newspaper:

ICE contract employee charged with smuggling people on charter bus
BY XAVIER ALVAREZ
Staff Writer

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement contract employee was arrested for allegedly transporting 39 people illegally present in the country utilizing an All Valley Charters bus Friday, according to a criminal complaint.
Nancy Fernandez Luna, born in 1989, and the driver, Juan Torres Ayala, of Mexico, who was born in 1982, are both charged with transporting individuals illegally present in the U.S. from McAllen to Falfurrias.
On Friday, a white Prevost bus registered to All Valley Charters, LLC., entered the Falfurrias checkpoint where Fernandez told Border Patrol agents she was a government contract employee for MVM, a government contract transport company, the complaint said.
At the primary inspection area, Fernandez stated she works with ICE and that she escorts undocumented people northbound and provided her ICE personal identification verification contracting card as proof of her authority, according to the complaint.
During a secondary inspection, Fernandez advised that she was transporting juveniles who were all COVID positive and then, as agents were contacting the Centralized Processing Center regarding the validity of the bus, the bus departed.
“Agents conducted a traffic stop on the bus and instructed it to return to secondary inspection,” the complaint said.
Agents then requested the manifest and found inconsistencies such as not all the occupants of the bus being juveniles.

The Central Processing Center then advised the agents that they had no transport buses currently operating.
During an interview with authorities, Torres stated he knew all 39 individuals were illegally present in the country and were being transported illegally. He added he was going to be paid $1,800 for the trip, had picked up the bus rental and knew that the manifest Fernandez produced was fraudulent.
Two of the individuals being transported told authorities that they were provided with gray hoodies and medical masks to wear when they approached the Falfurrias checkpoint. The two stated that Fernandez told them to act asleep.
Both Fernandez and Torres were scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nadia S. Medrano in McAllen federal court for their preliminary examinations and detention hearing Tuesday morning.

Odd.
This is the same kind of charter bus that I was seeing here in Donna, getting loaded up with illegal juveniles that were being sent north.
They weren't normally getting stopped at the Falfurrias check point.
I guess that the government doesn't like competition.
-And please note - these "Juvenile refugees" supposedly all tested positive for covid...
