Sandy Berger, the former National Security Adviser under the Clinton Administration, wasn't banned from public office when he stuffed a bunch of documents in his shorts and smuggled them out of the National Archives in 2003.
According to the National Archives site on notable thefts, "Berger was sentenced to 100 hours of community service and probation and fined $50,000. He also had to pay $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation. Berger also lost his security clearance and license to practice law."
Odd... .
Ironically that won't work. There's nothing in the Constitution that says a felon can't run for President. He just won't likely be able to vote for himself if he does. The only conviction that would actually prohibit him from running is Insurrection.Actually the agenda is to convict him of a felony so he will be ineligible to hold a federal office such as the Presidency.

I'd have to see actual citation of statute before I believed something said on a news showI saw on 1 of the news shows that if he is under indictment for a felony, he cannot run. So as long as he is charged, and never goes to court, he would not be eligible.

I have previously looked (not knowing where all to look) and haven’t been able to verify my earlier statement. I just threw it out there, as something I had heard, as a possible game plan of the Dems.I'd have to see actual citation of statute before I believed something said on a news show
I think the argument is that someone under indictment for or convicted of a felony wouldn't likely win, but I don't think it's an actual ineligibility thing.
According to Article II of the Constitution, there's only 3 qualifiers for President:
That's it.
- Must be at least 35 years old.
- Must be a resident of the United States.
- Must be a native-born citizen of the United States.
No, that means he is (or his accounting team and lawyers are) exceedingly savvy at offsetting capital gains with capital losses so as to pay no net tax. A feature of U.S. tax law available to any and every U.S. taxpayer that has taxable investments, and every capital entity (ie corporations), and all are just doing what the law allows and they aren't tax cheats....
He didn't make a profit on his lifestyle, his private jets, his limousine fleet and his domiciles.
Supposedly, that means that he is either an idiot and a poor businessman or he's about to go bankrupt.

What we need to do is stay calm, anticipate that third parties will register and post seditious material to justify shutting this site down, and REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY.
Again, I know it feels like the Republic is lost. It may be. But for now, on this site, please for the love of God stay calm, speak rationally, and hope for .... better judgement from our leaders in the future.
The coming days and weeks (likely after the 20th) will be easier, but for now we need to be on the best possible behavior. Please. :)
