Now sanctuary cities don't want to be sanctuary cities

Influx of migrants must have pushed "Sanctuary Cities" to the breaking point.

Now Chicago democrats want "Sanctuary City" status removed

Monument, CO voted to NO LONGER be a "Sanctuary City"

A bit of history:

This is where we started - "What is a sanctuary city?"

And this was how it was supposed to have worked - "How sanctuary cities work"

But when border policy change flooded the influx of immigrants, Texas and Arizona started bussing immigrants to sanctuary cities and this is what ended up happening (And now "sanctuary cities" are at crisis point).

Yeah, the Big, Blue Cities thought that open borders were great - until the illegals crossed THEIR borders and drained THEIR coffers... .

Denver will be closing one migrant shelter a week for a month (4 total) at cost savings of $60 million from projected $180 million initially planned. But $120 million was already spent with some questioning how much money has been allocated for helping the homeless US citizens.

Can't be a "sanctuary city" if tax payers are not willing to pay for it. ;)
Ya gotta remember, the homeless rarely vote but the city fathers hope that the illegals will be able to vote.
Also, those city fathers thought the federal government would pay for taking care of those illegals... .

New York state appeals court just ruled that non-citizens voting in local elections was unconstitutional under state constitution - https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/21/nyc-non-citizen-voting-law-unconstitutional-00142525

I have a feeling courts will likely rule that non-citizens voting in state/national elections is also unconstitutional under US constitution. ;)
Maybe so, but the leftists want to pass the laws that they want to pass and then leave it to the lawyers and courts to try to block them... eventually.

Yep.
My mother got t-boned by an unlicensed illegal in Los Angeles, some years ago.
Totaled my truck.
Some opportunistic lawyer tried to take us to court a bit later.
We ignored him

It's nothing new.

The plan is working!

Crush the people's faith and trust in their local laws and law enforcement, spread chaos, empower federal forces to end the disruptions, bring in enough people that are dependent upon the good will of the federal government to maintain sufficient representational power for the Blue areas, then trigger an event that will cause an uprising of some sort (real or instigated) that will 'force' the federal government to declare an emergency and, in effect, put an end to all rights and activities that they don't like.

January 6th was just a trial run... .

This lack of transparency will anger already mad tax payers even more ... But some people sure got "paid" from that $300 million and looks to me a lot of "scratching of backs" going on. ;) (Remember when Covid lockdown decimated the hotel/motel/hospitality industry and all of sudden, homeless got housed in them? Hey Now 😆)

Chicago migrant website BLURS details of how $300 million was spent

Despite a City of Chicago website dedicated to tracking how nearly $300 million was spent on the migrant crisis, many aspects of the migrant crisis remain shrouded in secrecy – most notably how migrant shelter sites are selected and how much building owners are profiting off the migrant crisis.

It's easy to be a "sanctuary city" when all that's involved is chin music, political posturing, and virtue signalling. Now that they have to deal with the reality of an invasion of people with a disproportionate number of criminals, leeches, and plain wastes of oxygen, they are squealing like little bitches.

It's also easy when you're expecting the federal government to pay for supporting, housing and policing this unruly mass of humanity while praising you for being such a selfless hero... .
