I agree, Jeff.I can respect activism and revolution, the passion and commitment, even if I disagree with the position or goal. My opinion about what happened today is it was a shit show. There was nothing high minded in the actions that bunch of rabble engaged in.
I can respect activism and revolution. . . what happened today is it was a shit show.
I hear you, and don't disagree. . . but keep in mind that many moments in history we imagine as well-ordered and coherent were in fact extraordinarily chaotic. What do you think the local newspaper's coverage looked like after the Boston Massacre (or the Boston Tea Party)? These hooligans just lowered themselves to the level of racial hate groups like blmm
Very well thought out, Edward. I liked how you put it.I hear you, and don't disagree. . . but keep in mind that many moments in history we imagine as well-ordered and coherent were in fact extraordinarily chaotic. What do you think the local newspaper's coverage looked like after the Boston Massacre (or the Boston Tea Party)?
History only seems coherent in hindsight; it's uniformly surprising, and frequently shockingly ugly, as it's occurring.
Or maybe they were just a bunch of pissed off people with no plan. Like the guy that was in Pelosi's office, just a pissed off jackass. It was funny though.I think that you will find that the group that had invaded the halls of government was heavily infiltrated by members of the leftist groups who helped to instigate this mess. Goats to lead the sheep..
Whilst that's certainly a possibility, like with almost any political accusation I hear these days, I'm going to require some actual evidence before I give it any real consideration. That's just me though.I think that you will find that the group that had invaded the halls of government was heavily infiltrated by members of the leftist groups who helped to instigate this mess. Goats to lead the sheep... .
It’s not an insurrection if your intent was to not overthrow government. Words are so overused that they have to keep upping those words until all meaning is lost. They being politicians and news media. They were angry, upset people redressing grievance. Not in a good way mind you, but that doesn’t change their purpose.
The concept of a "Silent Majority" is a big part of the problem here. Because there's clearly a group of people unwilling to consider even the possibility that the actual majority of voters don't want Trump as President.Unfortunately, I don't think it's over yet. But I believe it may get more organized. The Silent Majority is finally waking up.....
....and man is it getting pissed!
What we need to do is stay calm, anticipate that third parties will register and post seditious material to justify shutting this site down, and REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY.
Again, I know it feels like the Republic is lost. It may be. But for now, on this site, please for the love of God stay calm, speak rationally, and hope for .... better judgement from our leaders in the future.
The coming days and weeks (likely after the 20th) will be easier, but for now we need to be on the best possible behavior. Please. :)
