Wife Supposedly Got The Shanghai Shivers

Yeah, right.
My sister and I both got the vax - and then Delta - and then Omicron.
Most of my office staff, as well.
The vax doesn't stop COVID, it just knocks some of the sharper edges off.
Your anecdotal accounts are irrelevant.

Scientific studies show that the vax prevents Covid in most people who are FULLY vaxed (three shots) and careful to mask and social distance........in other words, the careful ones.

If you're unvaxed you will get it........hope you're lucky and don't get long-term damage or get hospitalized...........or die.

If you're careless you can get Covid even if vaxxed.

If you're careless you may step in front of a bus, too.

Darwin's principles are accurate and severe.

-And for each of your scientific studies there is another scientific study that came up with different results.

Too many scientists are dependent on financing from political or economic sources that put pressure on researchers to slant their findings in certain ways.

That's why we have all of this contradictory confusion about how many masks of what kind are needed, how many of what kinds of vaccinations are required, how long the antibodies of COVID infection survivors are active, etc, etc.

As I said, I've taken the Moderna series, survived Delta shortly thereafter, survived Omicron a few months ago and don't consider myself ready for a booster.

Yes, I'm a 65-year-old diabetic with atrial fibrillation and a whole list of other physical problems. Still, I'm in no hurry to get yet another injection from a set of companies that appear to be more concerned with their financial bottom line than they are with following the Hippocratic oath... .

Really nothing too confusing going on now.

The overwhelming majority of the reliable sources say basically the same thing.

Get your three shots (#4 is now available to immunocompromised) and also wear the best mask (KN95 if possible) and social distance and avoid crowded places.

Really simple.

If you caught Covid after your full regimen of shots you may have been careless about the other precautions?

I'm ten years older and probably more foggy with age, but I don't see a problem.

At least I think so...........disclaimer needed.

Covid is now endemic. Eventually everyone will get infected with covid - vaxxed, unvaxxed, makes no difference. As common as the common cold, which essentially covid-19 has now joined the various pools of viruses which cause common respiratory viruses (some of which are corona viruses). As far as long term damage, hospitalization, death ... sure, for a negligible small percentage of the population, most with immune system compromises and/or other health conditions about to kill them anyway --- about the same as suffer the same consequences from any of the other common respiratory viruses that circulate and about which we don't worry much. Is this any excuse for holding the entire population in constant fear of something that poses them no great risk? Of imposing draconian measures that do little good and cause great harm? The only reasons for continuing to do so have nothing to do with public health.

You want to spend the remainder of your life living day to day in fear of a virus, preventing you from doing what you're still able to do, enjoying life in whatever ways you still can, you go right ahead, it's your life and your body and your inherent right to decide to do that --- just don't expect everyone else to be forced to do the same.

It was always basically the common cold. Folks with underlining conditions were always more susceptible, just like any other common virus.

You folks really need to check out the WEF.com site (World Economic Forum).

Its a legitimate site that tells you what they have already executed as well as what they have planned.

Its scary dark world type stuff but its real.

Prepare accordingly....
