Who's Been Vaccinated?

I got the first shot last month and I'll get the second one in a couple of weeks.
No big deal, except the last time that my shoulder hurt like that was after I shot a Polish anti-tank rifle.
Anybody else?

pretty sure I'm getting a divorce this year because my wife (germaphobe) and kids (one also a germophobe) got their shots about two weeks ago and I ain't getting none. Rather die for my principles because the shit needs consecutive shots, like the flu-shit. Never had one either.

Frankly, I don't see much difference between getting a flu shot and a COVID shot - except for the political nonsense.
One good thing about the COVID panic.
Flu and the common cold have just about disappeared, either through reduced human-to-human contact or because they get labelled as COVID... .

I haven't but I may be currently eligible, but I'm in no hurry. Everyone I know pretty much has been vaccinated and or had it too. I'm not concerned for myself but maybe a little for my young kids. Maybe I already had it too, don't know . I'm healthy as can be, haven't missed a day of work since 2007 , so I'm pretty unconcerned about getting seriously ill from this thing.
My only hang up is the political implications associated and the fact that after vaccination there is no chance I'm putting the mask on again- did nothing before and would be nothing but a decoration for a vaccinated person . around here masks are required everywhere, by the people who believe in "science" and demand you continue to wear a mask even if you can't give it at all.

Not getting it.
I question the purpose of the government pushing a "non-vaccine" for a flu that is 99% survivable, doesn't stop you from getting covid, is not a true vaccine, hasn't been properly tested, in effect, you are the lab rat or the guinea pig, modifies your immune system's DNA, and does not have a successful track record.
In addition, this "non-vaccine" is being pushed by millionaires who are leading world de-populationists.
Call me a nut case if you want, but I'm not getting it.
In the future, if you start growing horns or one leg gets shorter than the other, remind me why you thought that was a good idea.

As a volunteer fire fighter I was offered the vaccine in January or February, I passed but I am not opposed to it. At this point I will face the relatively low risk that the virus poses over the unknown long term side effects of the vaccine. I also strongly suspect I have had COVID and was asymptomatic.

I am currently conducting long term testing of the vaccine on people world wide, all volunteers.

Yesterday marked 2 weeks since my wife and I got the second shot. Neither of us had any ill side effects at all. We got the Pfizer vaccine. Daughter got the Johnson & Johnson and absolutely no side effects. Don't know what our son got? Our son did contract COVID but in his mid 30s just briefly lost his sense of taste and smell and that cleared up over a few weeks.

I'm on the flip side of this.

The best way to describe my wife would be "anti-authoritarian".

She doesn't like people telling her what she can, or cannot, do.

On top of that I can add many other things...like her pretty much being an anti-vaxxer, in keeping with this topic.

I have flat out told her I refuse to talk to her or answer any of her questions about why I wear a mask or even whether or not I've even gotten vaccinated "because you don't care what my reasons are and I don't want to waste my breath just to have to listen to your sh*t about it anyway".

I love that woman with all my heart, but I'm not about to go into this with her after more than a quarter century of dealing with her on matters like not getting the kids vaccinated growing up, her refusal on matters like getting tetanus shots, my vaccinations while I was in the Navy, etc.

I'm an adult, I'm capable of making my own decisions on this matter, and if she can't respect that, that's her problem not mine.

I am sorry to hear that. As a working scientist, I have occasional difficulties with family and friends who flout science for philosophical, political, or religious reasons. It speaks to very different and incompatible worldviews. I haven't had any luck, so I can offer no advice. At least no one espouses a flat Earth in my family!

But, sincerely, I wish you the best of luck with this!

ETA - 2 Pfizer injections. The second put me down for a day, but that means my immune system is working, so there's that!
