Today I was home with my 1 & 3 year old , no chance to make anything special. Chicken & rice casserole, but it turned out good. Funny thing is no matter what you cook for the kids they want chicken nuggets, noodles (of any type), tortillas and any type of microwavable veggies in the freezer. My younger one is a born carnivore and will always eat steak, my older one us at the age that she's picky.
I do about 75% of the cooking because my wife (although very picky) can only make a few things really well, she'll skip crucial steps or ingredients and thinks it'll all turn out fine - usually does not, she's not detail oriented.

Those venison phillys look awesome, put one aside I'm on my way!!
What kind of cheese you putting on those beauties ?-yes, this is a test.

Lol sounds about right.

It's provolone. How's that do in your test??

You pass the test, acceptable answers would have included swiss(unconventional but great) or cheeze whizz (the orginal, sounds sickening but it's pretty good). I think overall provolone is best.

I'll have to try it with Swiss next time, I could see that being good. Cheese whuz is in fact delicious on my most likely bastardized version of the philly (note the brat buns and bell peppers).

Hoping my pepper plant in the yard ponies up so I can have some chiles next time. It's the lone survivor of all the seeds I planted sadly

I've got 3 pepper plants going, one green bell, one that puts out long but generally flavorless long green peppers (good for salad) and one habenero that I use for chili .
They're putting out well this year

I planted then next to the garage to keep an eye on them, last year I think my neighbor was stealing peppers but can't prove it. He's got dementia so I can't be too hard on him.

My kids (and hubby) have two choices every meal. Eat what's on the table or go hungry. There is no third option.

I'm kind of new to feeding little ones and I know what I should do, I'm being a softy cause they're so little and I worry . I should get strict and not budge. Most days my wife works until after the kids are in bed, after I've been working all day and get everyone home and get dinner going , I'm just in survival mode and I give in. Thanks for the reminder of what I should be doing.

Made a Mississippi Pot Roast; always comes out awesome. The weirdest ingredient list, but cooked in a crockpot, it comes out great. As to pepper plants, I have 5: serrano, jalapeno, Thai chile, ghost and Carolina reaper.............those last 3 will make you scream for ice cream the next morning!
I use a whole jalapeno or serrano every morning with my eggs

I'm jealous. Love me some good peppers and those at the grocery store rarely qualify as such.

Cooked a pot of bolita beans all day with habaneros and kielbasa from the smokehouse. Mrs. X62503 made a pan of cornbread. Clean living, boys. When our children were babies we just put whatever we were eating through a little food mill. Plenty of good water and fiber. All is well.

My dad gave me some of his pepper sauce today, about half a gallon. It's just all random peppers from the garden mostly hot one, it's blended up and he adds some vinegar.

I used to do the same thing with pigeon and bacon in the smoker. Wish we could hunt dove, there's a lot here but we're not allowed.

Today I made the last of my ground venison with beef fat for tacos.
