Watching China Melt Down

China is an odd bird.
They have made it extremely difficult for their common comrades to invest in anything except real estate and other government-controlled stocks.
Well, the government has decided to meddle deeply in their internal real estate market.
Some $63,000,000,000.00 in value simply ceased to exist.
Meanwhile, import of Australian coal was blocked for purely political reasons.
China is seriously dependent on coal, and the lights (and industries) are being shut off for days at a time.

This is beginning to have a major effect on the rest of the world.
Real estate is getting dumped, energy prices are jumping, steel and other metals are wobbly, common commodities aren't getting distributed, and the idiotic diktats issuing from Washington D.C. are just making things worse.

Yep, it's going to be a cold, hard winter all over the world.
Are you prepared?

I've been prepared.

Living in the sticks, two fridges, 25cf chest freezer, whole house generator, 600g propane tank, meds/kits, ammo/guns, tools, ingenuity and a willingness to survive.

I'm not looking forward to whats coming but I'm as ready as one can be.

And FCCP.

The CCP has clearly and firmly declared its goal to be THE world power, and also made no secret that the next step toward that objective is taking Taiwan. Everything that goes on in that country is under the thumb of the CCP and everything is subservient to its goals. They've begun preparing their population for hard times and for war. A couple of YouTube channels by guys that used to live in China and still have ties there and who know and understand what's going on are:
Everything that's going on in this country is providing the CCP with opportunities to move forward on their goals for their country.

The Dems are frightened and nervous.
The Chinese money didn't roll in for this election.
Their economy is in melt-down mode and they don't have much to spare.
They're even telling their people to stock up on food because they expect to run short this winter.

Meanwhile, Xi Jinpeng and Jiang Zemin are having a face-off over who's going to run China.
Xi controls the Army, so he's doing Army stuff like threatening all of his neighbors from India to Taiwan.
Jiang controls the Police, so he's cracking down on everything from Falun Gong to Hong Kong.
They have to show the Party members who is the baddest.
They don't have time to concern themselves with the finances of a bunch of American barbarians.

And the Black Swan events (ill omens) keep rolling in... .

China hoards over half the world's grain, pushing up global prices

Testy ties with U.S. and Australia could be prodding China to boost food reserves
SHIN WATANABE and AIKO MUNAKATA, Nikkei staff writersDECEMBER 23, 2021 16:47 JST

DALIAN, China/TOKYO -- Less than 20% of the world's population has managed to stockpile more than half of the globe's maize and other grains, leading to steep price increases across the planet and dropping more countries into famine.
The hoarding is taking place in China.
COFCO Group, a major Chinese state-owned food processor, runs one of China's largest food stockpiling bases, at the port of Dalian, in the northeastern part of the country. It stores beans and grains gathered from home and abroad in 310 huge silos. From there, the calories make their way throughout China via rail and sea.

China is maintaining its food stockpiles at a "historically high level," Qin Yuyun, head of grain reserves at the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, told reporters in November. "Our wheat stockpiles can meet demand for one and a half years. There is no problem whatsoever about the supply of food."
According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, China is expected to have 69% of the globe's maize reserves in the first half of crop year 2022, 60% of its rice and 51% of its wheat.

-Sounds like China is getting ready for hard times... .

Well here we are well through February and while Biden's policies have all but destroyed the economy this winter didn't hurt much. While not a "prepper" I do maintain a good stock of dry goods, a whole house generator plus a backup generator and plenty of ammunition and reloading supplies as well as toilet paper :) . While plenty of cold and snow overall the wife and I are doing well. Cold and snow are nothing new in NE Ohio. While this winter could have been more mild it was not all that bad.

China's having a demographic crisis, as well.
First, there are 118 males for each 100 females - and many of the females have been sterilized or are beyond reproductive age.
This has led to having only about two million live births out of a population of about one and a half billion people.
Roughly a third of the population is fifty or older - which may be part of the reason COVID was created... .
Anyway, military-aged males are down to about five percent of the total population.
It looks tough for China.

be nice to have some additional data, surrounding the above. 2M births, over what time frame, for example. what were the numbers a decade ago.
5% of 1.5B is still 75M people. the question is what percentage of that is actually fit for military service.

go look at the manpower breakdown for the U.S. as an example.

There is rebellion all across China - over World Cup Soccer, of all things.
It seems that the CCP has been telling the Chinese people that the rest of the world is dying in job lots from COVID, hunkering down and locked down just like China.
Then they allowed the live broadcast of the soccer matches.
When the cameras panned over the crowd there was not a mask to be seen.
Everyone looked happy and healthy.
Even the players that had reportedly had COVID were out there playing - and winning.
The Chinese authorities started fuzzing out the people in the stands but it was too late.
The people are now furious at the CCP.
They've begun resisting the police, disappearing public officials and breaking out of lockdowns.
Even the Wall Street Journal is starting to report on these 'protests', even though it goes against their own business interests.
Meanwhile, China has admitted that there were only 1.2 million live births in 2021 and that their population will start dropping rapidly very quickly.
Stay tuned, folks.

Now they're taking hostages.
Every group in a contaminated area where there has been unrest has to allow the police to put a certain percentage of their people in the COVID camps for an indefinite period.
These are not people that have tested positive for COVID, they are merely people that happen to be from that area.
Many of them are children or even toddlers in strollers... .

Seeing what's going on in China makes it clear that Covid is just an excuse, not the real reason. I hope Xi gets his ass kicked out, but I doubt that whoever replaces him will be much better.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zemin, 96, died.
He was a previous leader of the CCP and a critic of and competitor to Xi Jinpeng.
Now Xi has even more control... .

Major companies are abandoning China (and Russia).
They're tired of the uncertainty of whether or not their doors are to be welded shut, their staff will be locked in or out, or the entire facility may be taken over by some government crony.
They're also tired of having to turn over all of their patents and copyrighted material to the government.
Tesla is one of the few exceptions - they don't claim patent protection for their products that they make in China - and they're not building anything in Russia... .

Yeah, I get a kick out of Elon's attitude.
He basically tells his competitors, "Go ahead and copy us. Try to keep up, and good luck... ."

Good deal. They should have done so years ago. The immediate problem is that so many crucial necessities originate in China. I'm hearing today on the news about shortages of medicines. Specifically Tamiflu (into what's forecast to be a severe flu season) and Amoxicilin (used to treat flu-related respiratory infections). All this takes time. In the meantime, it's we who suffer.

listen, at this point we NEED to have a Great Reset, but on our (conservative) terms. That's going to require some hopefully only short term pain and suffering. The greater the pain and suffering, the shorter the term will be. The asshats in power have been slowly boiling the frog for too long. Ideally I'd like to see some rushed together gallows made in front of various buildings, but that's just a pipe dream. :D
