"Socialism", by any other name...

But if we were allowed to have true, unrestrained capitalism, you could just use the power of the markets and not buy the fuel from the producers who polluted the water supply!
That would fix it for sure!!!

I see people on their phones in the grocery store all the time. Surely they are doing background research into each product they buy to make sure they are using their purchasing power to enforce their ideology through the free market.

Or maybe they're just looking at memes, or QAnon. ? "Free Market Capitalism" is just handing power to the wealthy elite and corporations.

From what I've read, Canada seems to have got it right with the rehabilitation of the oil sands. But that requires effective AND efficient regulation. But hell, how dare they protect my children's children's children's future - Bloody commies!!! next they'll be after my guns and my way of life.

Ah yes... Canada... where 90% of the population has measurable levels of lead, mercury and cadmium in the bodies. But the oil sands...

Thanks for sharing. To be fair though, these are below Government guideline levels. In South Africa, entire communities near mines have levels hundereds of times above Government guidelines

If you don’t work, you don’t eat (among the able bodied). Godly principal. Look it up.

This nation was founded upon Godly (Judeo Christian) principals. If ever a society votes its way into socialism (of any degree) it will have to shoot its way out. There is no “part way” for socialism/communism . The two are not mutually exclusive, nor functionally separable, due to human nature. Nor will everyone pull their own freight. That fact removes the chances for a commune’s sustainability. Starvation is a great motivator. As graves are great separators (as in the quick from the dead).

Some will rail that those concepts are harsh, selfish even barbaric. Those will find themselves in harsher circumstances, subservient to selfish barbarians should they get their way. Thankfully, throughout history, there have been brave men willing to do and endure violence to save all. Even those ignorant of their need for salvation.

Your premise is faulty. This nation has been partially socialist since it was founded.

First- yep. Applies to capitalism, in the sense of the term.

Second- I do not agree with my premise being “faulty” as you say. But make no mistake, I am un offended by the difference in our views. Nor discomfited.
