So, news came out this week that a whistleblower came forward saying Trump was doing some inappropriate/illegal things in conversations with foreign heads of state.

The media ran with it - maybe this time they'd get him! I'm sure the house Democrats who decided to impeach the President then hold hearings to find a justification were drooling in anticipation.

Then, last night I think, I saw an alert on my iPad that the WSJ had details:

And now, Trump posted this video to his twitter account:



With this video I'm not sure how the mainstream media can refuse to cover this. Chris Hayes @ MSNBC seemed really happy about it:

It looks like abuse of power in support of nepotism. $83,000 per month paid to Biden's son from a questionable company that was under investigation, and Biden stepped in to get the prosecutor fired.

Does this mean it's Warren now?

Does launching this now mean that Trump thinks Warren is an easier opponent than Biden?

Oh, and the reason the whistleblower complaint was denied whistleblower status, from paragraph 22 of the news story on this:

The whistleblower didn't have direct knowledge of the communications, an official briefed on the matter told CNN. Instead, the whistleblower's concerns came in part from learning information that was not obtained during the course of their work, and those details have played a role in the administration's determination that the complaint didn't fit the reporting requirements under the intelligence whistleblower law, the official said.

Thanks for posting this. I had not paid any attention to the story. I wrote it off as simply more fake news intended to drive Trump’s poll numbers down.

When is the media going to accept that Trump is POTUS and he can say anything he wants to a foreign leader?

I can't see Biden as the nominee. Possibly Warren, Steyer or someone that is not in the running yet like Bloomberg. Remember, it's the Dems so the voters don't really count. It will be a brokered convention.

As far as the 'whistleblower complaint' ... it's not going anywhere.

A Ukrainian official just debunked the quid-pro-quo part. The prez has wide leeway on foreign policy and the whistleblower statute doesn't apply to the prez anyways.

When Biden entered the race I made a bet he'd drop out in September. I may lose by a month or two but I don't see him going the distance. He'll be dropping out soon. Kind of sad, but it's his party that abandoned him, not the other way around.

HRC had a lot more momentum going into the primary and look what happened. Biden is uninspiring... at best.

I don't see any of the current crop winning the nomination. All of them have gone 'round the bend into complete wackiness only a slim minority can identify with.

Which means... someone else is going to enter the race, to "rescue" the D party from a certain and ignominious defeat. Care to guess who that might be?

I note the wording in the article in the OP..."...repeatedly pressured the president of Ukraine..." That's the mainstream media's lame attempt to redefine the way president Trump speaks. He usually repeats himself two or three times when talking about something.

I agree with George and gramps. Michelle Obama could step in now, free from all the primary attacks and steal the nomination, but why would she when the Obamas are hundred-millionaires? Oprah could as well, but it's not a small thing to build the staff to run a successful presidential campaign.
