Is a Red Tsunami in 2022 a Sure Thing?

I voted in the primaries yesterday here in notoriously Blue deep south Texas.

WOW!

There were at least five folks in the Republican ticket line for each one in the Democrat line.

It did concern me a bit, as this could be a cross-over attempt by the Democrats in a supposedly Blue district so that they can select weak opponents for the national elections.

-Then again, this was how the Democrats selected Trump as their opponent in 2016... .

I just hope that in the midst of this Russia v. Ukraine war - which, honestly, gives Biden prime opportunities for positive Presidentrial PR spin, that people don't forget how he and the Demos totally f'ed up this country - and continue to do so, war or no. Too many people have short memories and are easily distracted by the latest crisis.

Old Abe Lincoln said, "A house divided against itself cannot endure."

Today we are more divided than ever. More enraged. More hateful. More violent.

Red Tsunami won't change that.

America is a slowly sinking ship.

Yes, we are, but you should consider whether it's blue or it's red that's been most responsible for that state of affairs. So getting those politicians out of power might indeed change that state for the better.

Newsflash, we are currently living under communist uniparty.

Left, right, independent it doesnt matter.

Until you come to terms with THAT, you are still a sheep unto the system.

You don't get it.

Both sides are dangerous. One is no better than the other.

Both are totalitarian and deranged. Anyone who disagrees with them is automatically an evil enemy.

They are quite willing, even eager, to do harm to one another.

If EITHER SIDE were to gain enough power to control and dominate--America would become an Orwellian hell.

Those of us in the middle are still in the majority, but we need to take charge and call out the extremists for what they are--potential Fascist overlords that hate our America and want to turn it into a dark totalitarian empire.

Our freedom is in jeopardy from two sides.

Our freedom is in jeopardy from two sides.

Actually, I think I do, I'm just trying to be pragmatic and work with what's possible. Yes, both extremes are dangerous, but one is less influenced by their extremes than is the other. And therefore less dangerous. There we differ.

Those of us in the middle are still in the majority, but we need to take charge ...

And how do you propose to do that? The two-party system is given as the American democratic system. Any and all efforts to form a third party have failed. I actually think a multiple-party system is better for true representative democracy. Because no one party can have absolute power. And because consensus and compromise must be achieved between at least two parties before anything can be done. But I don't see it happening any time soon. Thus the need for pragmatism.

How do the people in the middle take charge???

The "how" can be found........unfortunately the will and the interest are lacking.

Even the awareness of the NEED is lacking.

Most seem quite content to watch the extremists and make fun of them........Pelosi and Trump are just laughed at or tolerated or simply ignored because people are too concerned with their own everyday and selfish concerns.

Many don't even watch the news. They're too busy making money or trying to make money. They are above it all.

They tend to feel that they and their friends are superior to the extremists........in reality, THEY--not the extremists--are the problem.

The first "how" question is how do we wake up those in the middle?
