I refuse to wear a mask

I was on site at a client's today. I never wore a mask.
We had techs in for 6 hours. They eventually stopped wearing theirs.
I never said a word either way.
Lead by example. We are not the abnormality to NOT wear a mask; the abnormals are the ones INSISTING we wear one!

I gotta say that our responses to this pandemic continue to get more and more ridiculous.

The only appropriate response at this point is to just go back to being a normal person and ignore all this craziness. None of this stupidity at this point is going to be of any real benefit to the human race, but it could be a detriment.

You mean like a burka? I honestly believe the mask is the prelude to one.

You believe that? Really?

The CDC just relaxed mask recommendations for the vaccinated. So, no, the government is not trying to control people by making them wear masks. Just trying to save lives. Anything to the contrary is just conspiracy rubbish.

.... Just trying to save lives. ...
... and as usual, completely botching the job. The types of masks almost all people are wearing, and the ways they're managing their mask use, make the mask mandates highly ineffective toward that goal. The masks just make people "feel" safe, so in a sense, the masks are actually counter-productive.

Well, the mask mandate ended today here in Texas, although it continues to be in effect in my library - with good reason.
Our janitor, who is in charge of disinfecting all commonly touched surfaces, tested positive for the covid virus.
I'm home today until my testing results come back... .

Well, the world most highly-qualified epidemiologists and infectious disease specialists disagree with your assessment. So . . .

The primary functions of the masks that are in common use are psychological.
They remind people to maintain personal distance, to sanitize, and act to calm those that are easily frightened.
-And, possibly, slightly reduce exposure to virus-bearing particles... .

... and how often have they been TOTALLY and COMPLETELY WRONG!?!?!

And furthermore, weren't some of those "experts" the reckless idiots that were responsible for the virus escaping from the lab in the first place?

And even yet furthermore ... covering it up and advising the world there was no danger?

Ya, "listen to what the experts say" seems to me to be pretty dumb advice. No thanks.

Frankly, observing the filthy, dirty masks most people are wearing, and how often they touch their masks with their (unsanitized) fingers to adjust its fit, I'd say it's a pretty safe guess that their masks are actually increasing their exposure to virus particles.

Experts have been wrong before. That doesn't mean they're always wrong, or even usually wrong.

But the way some people justify their emotional reactions to argue again science is to use pseudo-logic. Which is just a series of presumptions and feelings linked together to attempt to reach the conclusion they really wish were true. It goes like this:

I don't like what the government is telling me to do.
They're basing it on the word of scientists.
Science has been wrong before.
I didn't like what they were saying when they were wrong before.
I don't like what they're saying now.
Therefore, science is wrong now.
Therefore, I am right.

No facts used, no evidence used, all evidence to the contrary ignored, desired outcome reached. Looks like logic. Is really just emotional response masked as logic.

Well, I'm in quarantine for another week.
My executive secretary is symptomatic.
-And yes, we've been wearing our masks and following the rules... .

The best thing about whenever the pandemic ends is that we won't have to go round and round about topics like this.
Oh, there'll be something else. Some other new Democratic disaster, most likely. We're way overdue for a stock market crash. Maybe this Covid relief legislation will hurry it along.
