Fahrenheit 451: A How-To Manual?

As a librarian and historian, I am deeply concerned with the Left's attempts to neuter our literature.
It was bad enough that they tried to ban books by Twain, Salinger and Steinbeck over terms and concepts from the past.
Now they are actually re-writing stories by Roald Dahl, Dr. Seuss and R. L. Stine so that the young will not be exposed to uncomfortable words and concepts.
It is better to replace this rougher fare with pablum-level mass media that never challenges the intellect of the reader viewer.

This is the thought process that led to the creation of the Firemen of Fahrenheit 451.

By the way, the publishers also tried to do the same thing to Fahrenheit 451 - the book... .

Censorship comes to my little library.
According to the Austin American Statesman (May 10, 2025)

House Bill 3225, which advanced to the Senate on Friday, would require libraries to use age verification to keep minors from reading “sexually explicit” books. After banning books with sexually explicit content from schools in 2023, Texas Republicans are setting their sights on a new target: municipal public libraries.

Now it has passed the State Senate and has been signed into law

Our circulation system has no way to differentiate between children's cards and adult cards in relation to books, ebooks and audio books.

I guess that we are in a spot of trouble...
