Well, I don't want to judge or misjudge anyone's intelligence, as I'm not qualified to make that judgment. However, what I think the problem is: a person's knowledge-set. A person can be intelligent and at the same time be ignorant. What with the way higher education systems have been going the last several decades, there could be a lot of very intelligent but very ignorant people out there. If they don't have the knowledge then their intelligence isn't going be any help discerning whether any particular set of new "facts" makes any logical sense given the entire universe of facts, logic and reality. I guess they call that "critical thinking" - and that's one of the major failures of higher education these days. Students aren't taught to think critically for themselves. They're taught what to think, not how.

Sorry for the long, mostly-off-topic rant. But I think it applies to whether or not a person takes what Fauci says as "gospel" - or not.

The tale unfolded in October 2020 after the launch of the Great Barrington Declaration, a statement by Harvard’s Martin Kulldorff, Oxford’s Sunetra Gupta and Stanford’s Jay Bhattacharya against blanket pandemic lockdowns. They favored a policy of what they called “focused protection” of high-risk populations such as the elderly or those with medical conditions. Ballot printers did their stuff, so did the Biden administration, and now we're in a mess.

Now we're facing mid-terms,
