I refuse to wear a mask

I’ll pass on reading it and just assume it concludes that masks prevent infection from Covid even though they have not.
The important thing is for mask wearers feel virtuous and superior to anti-maskers
(formerly known as people minding there own business and living their lives).
It is a meta-analysis of multiple studies, and here is the summary:

"The preponderance of evidence indicates that mask wearing reduces transmissibility per contact by reducing transmission of infected respiratory particles in both laboratory and clinical contexts. Public mask wearing is most effective at reducing spread of the virus when compliance is high."

Awesome, I hope you are sporting a mask proudly and feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Conclusions: We did not observe association between mask
mandates or use and reduced COVID-19 spread in US states.
COVID-19 mitigation requires further research and use of
existing efficacious strategies, most notably vaccination.

I'm not wearing one. It isn't that I refuse to. I don't carry a cane, wear a top hat or whistle while I work. I have never been accused of "refusing" to do any of those things even though all of them are just as effective against the spread of Covid as the filthy masks some people wear (and fondle) all day.

How are all the maskophiles doing? Still proudly sporting those face diapers? Do you have tan lines to prove your devotion?
Have any of you fallen from grace, abandoned your faith? Be honest, you're anonymous here.

I dropped the magic face cover after I recovered from COVID.
I'll admit that I donned the magic paper vest over my clothes yesterday when I went in to have my bone density checked... .

Why are you so bothered by a piece of cloth that you woke up a thread from August just to post this?

August, wow, that was eons ago. I guess my curiosity has only increased over all that time.
Gave up your faith I presume? Do you remember your first death defying mask-less venture into the post COVID world? Did you go cold turkey or wean yourself slowly from three masks, then two, one....?
When did you decide to completely disregard the well being of others, especially the highly vulnerable immune-compromised among us?

When did a piece of cloth terrify you so much that it left you obviously emotionally scarred?

I don’t care if you wear a mask or not but coming on here to crow about it is childish.

Since when is acting on facts and describing same childish? I feel sorry for those poor misguided souls I see in the store walking around with their furtive, fearful looks and their downcast and mask-covered faces. Yes, they ARE being emotionally scarred. This is not how human beings are supposed to be living. I try to give each and every one of them a bright sunny unmasked and close-proximity smiling face as I possibly have time and energy for. I do it for humanity. I do it for the country. I do it for the individual. I do it for myself. I'm sorry, but you're totally out of line.

Sounds to me like you do it for the drama.

What would you do if one of them gave you a big dose of hot sauce for trying to infect them?

I LOVE hot sauce!!

If they removed their mask and engaged me as one human being to another I wouldn't give a rip if they were sniffling, sneezing, coughing or whatever. Saving humanity and saving America is more important that saving any one individual human or any one individual American, to be quite frank and brutal. When did it become unfashionable, not to mention unethical, to not be willing to sacrifice your life for your country? Or for humanity? It was Jesus himself who set the example of being willing to sacrifice his own life for the benefit of all. I'm willing to expose myself to being infected, if that's what my contribution to saving humanity and saving this country must be.

If an individual isn't willing to risk something, then the only sure thing is losing everything.
I would take your position a lot more seriously if you had a history of also being opposed to mandates like being forced to wear shirts, shoes, and underwear in public. What’s the difference?

A cloth mask is not a serious threat to American democracy. That’s ludicrous. You are not saving America, you’re just having a little drama.

There are no such mandates.

There are laws against public indecency. Laws and mandates are not the same.

BTW, I edited my post while you were quoting it.
